Giel Sweertvaegher

I always wanted to become a pilot, but when I was rejected by the Belgian Air Cadets for medical reasons, I had to find another way to get into planes and fly. I choose photography and a year after being rejected I joined the Aviation PhotoCrew. At age 16 I got to shoot jets while hanging out of the back of a Skyvan. Slowly I started to document my travels and more recently I got into automotive photography.

As a day job I teach History to kids aged 15-18, but most of my free time goes into my photography and other related activities. I’m also an avid runner.

Photography has given me the opportunity to go to new places, meet new people and do fun stuff. It also gave me the chance to work for brands like Mercedes AMG, RedBull and Breitling. So if you feel like working together you can shoot me a message!
